Talino Venture Labs is a California-based global venture studio building tech startups across Asia and the United States. Our mission is to accelerate economic growth and recovery for the emerging middle class around the world. 

We’re looking for an Entrepreneur in Residence to join us as we rapidly scale our organization and build more inclusive product offerings.


Your role

Reporting to the CEO, the Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) plays a key operational role in the development, growth, and sustainability of Talino and its related ventures by exercising leadership and management oversight over key areas of its operations. The EIR’s overall role includes: 

  • developing and managing the startup/project to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness; strategy and business model development; 
  • sourcing and vetting potential investment targets; 
  • coaching and mentoring the team towards meeting performance targets; 
  • working with key community partners to develop the startup’s ecosystem and strategic partnerships.


Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and management of the startup/project, ensuring alignment of product, operations, brand/marketing, business development, finance, and administration in achieving team targets
  • Help ensure the sustainability of the startup/project through strategy development, business modeling, creation of strategic partnerships, investments, and sustained revenue generation
  • Develop a best-in-class team through exposure to/participation in regional and global pitch competitions, accelerator programs, and other similar networking and learning events
  • Nurture key business relationships in the day-to-day operations of the startup/project.
  • These include but are not limited to: investors, strategic partners/clients, key team members, consultants, advisors, mentors, and the like
  • Oversee the development of team members through coaching, mentoring, metrics-based performance reviews, and other professional development activities
  • Contribute to positive reputation-building for the startup/project, through sustained public relations and stakeholder engagement efforts. Aside from traditional PR and media efforts, these will include engaging with government and public sector institutions; civil society; business groups, professional networks, and industry/trade associations; universities and educational institutions; and other cause-oriented groups related to the advocacy of the startup/project
  • Government relations for Talino Group
  • The projects involved require a high level of trust, confidence, and discretion. It is understood that all matters arising from internal discussions are deemed highly confidential unless otherwise stated.


A typical day at Talino will look like:

  • Attending regular stand ups and committee meetings as needed
  • Aligning deliverables with project stakeholders and providing regular updates
  • Providing regular updates and ensuring regular communications with assigned leads
  • Designing database schema, data structures, interaction between applications and services, and other software design artifacts along with the rest of the development team
  • Developing backend and frontend software for assigned projects, and related tasks to development such as, but not limited to: writing tests, doing unit testing, doing integration testing, writing automations, development of reusable components


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in strategy development and business building
  • Strong network of entrepreneurial types and plugged into the start-up community
  • Some nice to have:
  • Insurance license
  • Tech background
